17 Months

Viv got to see her Great Aunt and Uncle recently!

Nana, Viv and I went to the Butterfly Pavilion.  Viv absolutely loved it.  She was running around with her hands stretched out towards the butterflies and giggling the whole time.

Touching butterfly is a no no... Saw the sign afterwards =-)

Viv is now 17 months!

She constantly keeps us on our toes.

She loves to smell flowers, recite her animal noises, point out body parts, name family members in pictures, watch videos of herself, dance, laugh, be chased, go down the big slides, and explore everything possible.

We will let her watch "Teevee"sometimes.  She loves her Praise Baby videos and does not like anything else.  She has figured out how to get into our little foot rest.
She giggles and laughs at Praise Baby:
Her favorite question - "Oh, no!! Where (insert any family member) go?"
She still loves to Skype!  She now says, "Call Jenna."  "Oh No! Where did Andy go?"  She's started asking for Sha Sha (my friend, Chandra) now too. Those are the people who she skypes the most.  If you want to be the person she asks for whenever she sees a computer screen, get skype =-)

We walked to the park and back the other day.  It's about 1/4 mile to the park but I'm sure it was close to 1/2 mile after all her detours.  She walked nearly all of it.  She looked for bugs, smelled flowers, pointed out animals, checked out trees, and peered into almost every backyard.  She goes down the big slides now!

She gets several new bruises a week (as you can see on her cheek!).  The nursery at church seemed very concerned about this at first... then they paid attention to how she walks.  Her nickname there is "Humpty Dumpty."  She gets better and better with her balance but tends to walk or run without looking where she is going.

We have been trying to teach her colors by pointing out flowers of different colors.  It didn't work well. Her name for flower now is "purpleyellow."

Her latest favorite food is carrots.

She has a need to say goodbye to everything.  "Bye Bye, downstairs" - when we go upstairs.  "Bye Bye, milk" - when she drinks her milk all gone.  "Bye Bye, water" - when we drain the tub.

She loves to smell flowers.  We wonder if she actually knows what smell is yet.  We got our answer the other day.  Luke passed a little gas.  Viv comes up and sniffs through her nose.  Viv then proclaimed, "Yuckos!"
